Sony Ericsson is another major player in the mobile phone manufacturing industry. Without going on rounds about the company let’s just divulge into the review of the mobile phones manufactured by it. Firstly, most of the existing users have had no or fewer complaints with the mobile phones produced by Sony Ericsson and can only write paean in the name of reviews. Am I a Sony Ericsson user?

Among the good points of the Sony Ericsson mobile phones, prominent should be its simplicity. Yes, the design is quite basic. Do not read ‘basic’ as non-trendy, by basic design I mean the layout of the mobile phones. Most of the Sony Ericsson has a common layout design. The functionality of the mobile phones too is good and one needn’t crack his brains to use it, as said earlier it’s as its simplest best. The features offered by the mobile phones too are all praises by the users. Be it camera phone (these are of excellent standards- has Sony’s digital camera connections got anything to do with it?), display quality, music player or any other basic functions. The walkman series of Sony Ericsson is another feather on the cap of the Sony Ericsson. Remember the advertisement where Hrithik Roshan (Hindi movie actor) shakes up the phone to change the music? Well, it isn’t another gimmick. It happens in reality with the cell phone! It is perhaps the best phone along with MotoRockR for music.

What would any customer ask from a cell phone? Reliability, durability and a set of unique, functionally sound features should be the immediate answers. The good news is that the mobile phones manufactured by Sony Ericsson by and large provide all the above mentioned aspects. What about the cost? Here, Sony Ericsson doesn’t turn out to be the best in the market. One has to admit that there exist other mobile phones that are delivering much more value for money than Sony Ericsson cell phones. Another persisting problem is the non-availability of the components of the mobile phones for replacement. Warranty period is fine, what about life after that? This one isn’t prone to damage as much as say, Motorola, but god forbid, in extreme cases your mobile may just be futile due to the damage of a single component. The after sale services of Sony Ericsson isn’t great either. Along with the built quality, the battery life of Ericsson cell phones is great.

Overall the Sony Ericsson phones are reliable, sturdy, user friendly, upbeat and trendy not just in the design and sleek looks but also in the features offered. With all of it, Sony Ericsson still doesn’t quite be the best option for the economical or low-on budget buyers. Few models are exclusive and are worth the money spent, but the user who just needs a mobile phone with the basic features might very well avoid Sony Ericsson and opt for better (cheaper!) products of other manufacturer.
