Siemens mobile phone is quite unseen in the Indian mobile phone manufacturers list. But for all of them who thought it didn’t here’s an eye opener- it does exist. For starters, Siemens have are one of the lowest selling mobile phones in India. However the mobile phones have a considerable hold in other countries. The low sales might be attributed to the fact that Siemens played it small, for reasons better known to them. Another reason should be the low-key publicity. How many hoardings or ads have you seen of a Siemens mobile phone? Surprisingly, there are more than 20 mobile phone models of Siemens available in the market. There is little need to talk about the company Siemens as it is one of the recognized electronic companies worldwide.
The plus point of Siemens Mobile Phones is its cheap rates. The handsets are much cheaper than the other major mobile phone manufacturers in the market. However, on a closer look one can easily find out that the cheap rates aren’t quite cheap. The elegant and trendy look catches one’s eye easily. The functionality is good and the mobile is easy to use too.
Reliability is an important factor for anyone to buy a mobile phones. In case of Siemens one tends to be weary about the reliability, mainly because this mobile phone isn’t seen too much in ads, not talked about much, not used by every second person and so on. However, on the contrary to general assumed perception, Siemens turns out be reliable. Some of the existing users would readily be testimony to it. It provides the basic features of a Mobile phone and the features provided have fewer hassles seen except some exceptions.
But there are more areas where Siemens fails big time. One of the areas is the modern technology availability. In the age of every other mobile being a Bluetooth mobile phone, Siemens mobile phones like C55 and ME75 do not offer it even when we shell out 4K for them. Forget Bluetooth, even FM isn’t heard of in the user manual list! The camera is not provided in many models and when provided- it’s the VGA or 1 odd mega pixels camera we have to satisfy ourselves with. Siemens provides only the basic features of a phone, but then why put in money into Siemens while you can get such a phone for half of that price, manufactured by another mobile phone manufacturer. The small battery life is another letdown. You need to charge it on a daily basis and sometimes twice in a day too.
Basically, Siemens isn’t quite an updated and modern mobile phone. It is more of an archaic piece of work that is now seen only in the ‘stock clearance’ section of mobile stores. It should be a good one for those who use mobile phones for voice and SMS services, but aren’t there better ones in the market? Most of the mobile stores offer around 40% discount on Siemens mobile phones! Still, you are on the losing side!
