Samsung Mobile Phones

Samsung is a common name in the electronics industry and has provided and continues to provide some of the best electronic appliances. It was one of the early hoppers to the mobile manufacturing industry too. However, it didn’t quite manage to lead the race as a mobile manufacturer, especially in India.

Samsung basically has a cost range that is much higher than its immediate rivals. Why should an average user opt for an expensive (comparatively expensive rather!) model of Samsung when he or she can get a similar model consisting of the same features manufactured by another company. Yes, Samsung has its ‘brand’ image but now there are other brands that are faring much well than it as mobile manufacturers.

Let’s first discuss about the goodies that Samsung offers. Samsung mobile phones are excellent in their design, all thanks to the brains behind them. As per design, Samsung can be rated among the top 3 if not the top slot. Especially the latest ranges of mobile phones that are being launched into the market are light, thin and sleek. In fact, for the price at which it’s offered, the design and certain other features come across as an excellent feature. Another feather on the cap should be its good functionality. The menus are always easy to operate and well organized.

Alas, the good things end up there. Yes, there can be other good things that can be spoken of, like some specific features of some specific model and so on. However, these days the competition in the Mobile Phone manufacturing industry is so close that those ‘distinguished’ features of a particular model soon is overtaken by something catchy of another model by another mobile phone manufacturer. Speaking about the general things, Samsung usually lacks behind in providing the comprehensive features the way other mobile phone manufacturers do. To point out in particular, take a case of E-618, a model of Samsung. There isn’t any direct way to toggle from the T-9 mode to the multi-tap mode. Even the steps involved to toggle are far more then other manufacturers like Nokia, thus making it more tiresome and time-consuming to the user. This was just one of the examples- It may seem little, but these little things add on a lot.

The digital cameras of Samsung mobile phones too aren’t very impressive. A comparison of the 3 mega pixel Samsung mobile phone camera and the ones of Nokia or Sony Ericsson spills the beans under the carpet. The quality isn’t as good as others and the difference can be clearly made out when printed! Another drawback would be the absence of the ‘word wrap’ function in the SMS service. This maybe a turn-off for the SMS addict people out there and is enough a reason for one to say a ‘no’ to Samsung mobile phone. Constant need of battery recharge and long time for recharging bugs a lot.

Overall, Samsung is more for the business class or perhaps for the basic uses of call- answering, personal diary etc. It is worth the money, as it provides some of the trendiest designs. Those who want their mobile phones to look snazzier than themselves; Samsung is one of the finest options.
